The level of detail in the drawings is absolutely insane, everything looks so good. I mean, humans created torture. There is, however, a defiant refusal to bow to fate. Guts might as well be swinging around a five foot long dildo: Each volume of Berserk goes by ridiculously fast considering the amount of effort it represents, with the cinematic pacing that is so different from European and American comics. But by then the rhythm of the manga has changed completely.
